This is the correct sentiment. Ultimately, we are only constrained by the laws physics. But as the only species on Earth capable of perceiving and understanding these laws, we are stewards of all life.
As I always say, at some point the Sun will boil off our oceans and kill all life on Earth. True environmentalists would celebrate human progress and efforts to spread life beyond Earth to avoid this inevitable annihilation.
