023 We're Just Insecure
Hello Everybody!
Hope you're having an amazing weekend! Here's your weekly Amazing Things & Ideas Newsletter. Find one original idea from my side followed by the List.
We're Just Insecure
The cause of inaction despite desire usually boils down to insecurity.
When we want something, and don't go after it, it's often obvious but sometimes deep down we'll find that it's just insecurity that holds us all back.
Why don't we post content and become "influencers" on incredible platforms on the Internet despite having something to say and a desire to do so?
Insecurity.
Why do we follow traditional methods when we know what we want and how to get it (which involves going against the common methods)?
Insecurity.
Why don't we make good use of our "hidden talents" which match our goals and desires?
Insecurity.
It's a shame, but it's a fact. We are insecure and that hinders us from creating the best out of ourselves. Unless one breaks the chain. And doesn't care about missing out, failing at their new undertaking, or disrespecting the mainstream methods that we all know are rigged.
The Amazing Things & Ideas List
Quote of the week:
"The flame that burns twice as bright burns half as long."
— Lao Tzu
Book I read in a day:
Twelve and a Half: Leveraging the Emotional Ingredients Necessary for Business Success by Gary Vaynerchuck
In this short book, Gary shares 12 necessary “emotional ingredients”, which are essentially emotional skills, integral to have led to his success and happiness in life and business.
I wrote down a Lessons Learned from / Summary of the entire book, also acting as a Checklist. You can check it out here.
Online course by Yuval Noah Harari:
A Brief History of Humankind (Online Course) by Yuval Noah Harari
Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind by Yuval Noah Harari is one of the most important books of the 21st century. Before it was published in English, in 2014 Dr. Harari uploaded an online course covering ALL the ideas in Sapiens.
It is available on YouTube as a playlist for free. Imagine being taught by one of the greatest writer and thinker of the century!
I'm watching the course, even though I've read Sapiens once, to ingrain the fundamentals.
I'd highly, HIGHLY recommend checking this course out, ever more so if you haven't read the book.
You can watch the entire course on YouTube here.
Movie I watched this weekend:
tick, tick... BOOM!
One of the best I've watched this entire year. Lin-Manuel Miranda does it again. Extremely recommend watching to everyone.
You can watch it on Netflix here.
Thank you for reading. I hope you found that helpful. Have a great week ahead!
Onward,
Arjun
