Breaking habits is a skill
A habit can be perceived in a few ways—good, bad, or somewhere in the middle—but really when all is accounted for; any "habit" is just a habit, no matter how we look at it's effects. Our entire lives are basically just a cluster of habits performed by us everyday, many a times, unknowingly. And that's why even habits we term as "good" can turn against us. "How?", you ask.
Well, after a while of letting habits (actions done repeatedly, which can literally be anything) grow and evolve, we begin to execute those actions mostly subconsciously (without the use of our conscious thinking). It's as though our habits become a powerful force governing our body (and sometimes even our minds—aka "habitual thinking") and so our body listens to and obeys the forceful power of our habits without questioning them at all or without any conscious thinking. This is bad, because "change is the only constant in life", yet our habits seem not to adhere to that principal. They remain the same, if we do not overcome the force of habits. This is why breaking habits is a skill. And it's not so easy to conquer the stage of habits.
Therefore, even though habits are great and all, they have their downsides. And it's important to acknowledge the things we do habitually unconsciously and beware of making habitual mistakes and always staying in the same feedback loop. These actions can break us. So we better learn to break our habits first.
