002 Space again, NEXT, Blinking cursor...
002 Space again, NEXT, blinking cursor...
Hello! Hope your weekend is going great! This is my weekly newsletter. Here's the list of what's been going on this week. Learning new things, ideas, experimenting, books, news, and more from this week.
Creative rut: Yesterday, I fell into a so-called creative rut. With the blinking cursor blinking every second in front of me. It doesn't just happen while writing, but I really think it occurs to many people, at least sometime, in most parts of life. The phase when you don't know what to do with something you do, at all. You're stuck. But, of course I knew that I had to write another article yesterday, so I wrote about my problem of the blinking cursor. You can read it here.
Book I've been reading this week: Next to Me: Luck, Leadership and Living with Parkinson's by David Jones. Jones was the CEO of the great retail company NEXT plc who saved NEXT from collapse in the 1980's and turned the tables under his leadership which made the NEXT stock market valuation increase from £25 million to £3.5 billion. All the while living with his Parkinson's disease as a secret, only telling his close friends and family about the disease. Filled with Sir David's business experiences, lots of humorous tales, his childhood, and his great rigid principle in business that "whatever the problem may be, there is always a solution. You just have to think it through." this autobiography, I believe is a great read for anyone.
You can buy the book here.
A quote which I found amazing this week:
"Not everything that can be counted counts and not everything that counts can be counted." — Attributed to Albert Einstein
Big News! — This week another billionaire, Jeff Bezos went to space on his Blue Origin New Shepard Rocket. They created history by sending the youngest (Oliver Daemen, 18) and the oldest person (Wally Funk, 82!) into space. The launch was incredible and they landed safely. You can read more about my thoughts on it here on 011
Have a good week!
